T O P I C R E V I E Wcchampliss2I've noticed that one of my friends has her venus in libra and both my sun and mercury square her venus. We're very close friends, we love and care for each other very much, but I realize that we don't quite share the same sense of humor. Would these two aspects be the cause of that? Especially my mercury squaring her venus? I'm a capricorn, so my jokes are dry and somewhat sarcastic, and she hates that. But if I tell her I hit myself in the face with the pancake this morning while trying to flip it in the pan, she'll be on the floor in stitches. Should I stick to knock knock jokes? LaceyLeighWhat's her Mercury sign?cchampliss2 quote:Originally posted by LaceyLeigh:What's her Mercury sign? Her Mercury is in Leo, also a leo sun. Hope it doesn't get ya down too much... Some people's humor is more along the lines of absurdity, and yeah, other people's (and their own) ridiculousness/pain/embarrassment... and dry cerebral humour just isn't laugh out loud funny for some, even though it may stroke a happy nerve in the head and be acknowledged as witty, it ain't funny cause it makes too much *sense*.This is an interesting question to me. I'm not a laugher; I can go six months without truly laughing even though i make others laugh (asteroid Hilaritas is on my ascendant). But in my present relationship I laugh--hard--almost daily. It's really awesome and super redeeming. I'm not sure why... We have Mars trine Jupiter and some Uranus stuff and... I dunno why.I think some friendships are for funny and some are for not so much. It might be a natal chart thing with her, where again, her kind of humour is just different; it may not be explainable by synastry alone. Iced8Ace^Yeah jupiter and uranus make things fun. Jupiter is really good for laughs.Leo's sometimes don't get saturn's sarcasm. Keep in mind saturn co rules aquarius. They like blunt and witty humour. I laughed at the pancake thing, I have leo mars, aries sun lol.Lotis WhiteJupiter and Mercury seem to be where we find humor in the chart. Jupiter is a laugh out loud planet... It's seems to rule over-the-top ridiculous humor where people laugh so hard their stomachs hurt, and they start shedding tears. Jupiter is also in charge of unabashed joy.Mercury humor seems to be more about clever witticisms, and word tricks. We get a bit of a giggle over this stuff, and can be impressed with the cleverness of it, but it's never as hilarious to us as the Jupiter stuff. So if we note people's Jupiter and Mercury in the natal chart we get a pretty good idea on the type of humor they have too. The aspects of Jupiter and Mercury make in the natal chart can show a person's humor style, along with the sign and house positions of these planets. For SYNASTRY aspects to our Mercury and Jupiter show how we find them amusing and funny, and aspects to their Mercury and Jupiter show how they find us amusing. I've noticed that when someone touches my Jupiter I find them funny even when they're just doing ordinary things, like flipping their hair or something. Their very existence can crack me up. With aspects to my Mercury I find them so interesting, and kind of marvel at they way they express themselves. While Mercury and Jupiter are primarily in charge of humor, you have to take the rest of the natal chart or synastry into account as well. Planets in Sagittarius and Gemini incline people towards humor in general. And strong Sun or Leo planets can add showmanship to a person's ability to tell jokes. Saturn is not an outstandingly humorous planet but if it's strong in the chart in can give a dry sense of humor. Whereas Uranus adds a zany sense of humor. People with strong Uranus or Aquarius can be good at observational, offbeat humor. People with a strong Mars often make a joke out of being aggressive, or out of saying blunt things. People with a strong Venus may joke in a flirty way, or perhaps they joke a lot about love and attraction. yungang_grotto^ Thank you that's awesome. My Jupiter is trine his Mercury. And yeah I find just the thought of him funny...I was at my auto mechanic getting a truck pre inspected to see if I would want to buy it and the seller had a huge (water? pee?) stain all over his crotch when he walked in (front and back!). I just calmly noted it at first but when I went to text my partner about it I very nearly could not stop laughing... Just the energy between two people is enough to set off a hilarious vibe.. so I rescind my comment about it being less about synastry, that was silly, it totally is a huge factor...yungang_grottoMy guy also has Jupiter conjunct Uranys natally... He makes pretty much everyone laugh. cchampliss2Lotus White, what a fantastic and informative post! Thank you! Natally, I have mercury in Capricorn. My jupiter and saturn are in libra, so both square my mercury (I know), and my mercury is also conjunct my sun in capricorn. I don't know what this adds up to but I make some laugh and some roll their eyes. My dear friend and I also have jupiter and saturn conjunct her venus in libra. So sometimes it feels heavy and other times it doesnt. But to update, I finally told her about the pancake and she seriously almost wet herself. And I asked her why that was so funny and she said, because you're such a dork! GabbyJupiter, Mars, Mercury and Sun sign to me play a major role in your sense of humor.I have a libra Venus and the knock knock jokes and slap stick comedy bore me to tears but your dry sense of humor would crack me up!I think my gemini mars, saggy sun/merc give me a thirst for humor that's got some intellect behind it. I don't laugh a lot but when I do I'm falling off the chair laughing, perhaps that my aries jupiter...it's a very physical laughter.NikiVenus6Jupiter Moon, Jupiter Venus, Jupiter Mercury sweet aspects give good sense of humor and compatibility in relationships!------------------Free Information on Love Astrology
